Office 2000 won't let well enough alone

I recently started syncing my iPod Touch and found that my version of Office
is too old to support syncing. Now I have set up sync to my Gmail contacts
and that works, but when I do that I get all sorts of messages about putting
in my Office CD, and messages from Windows Installer . No matter how many
times I click cancel, more and more warnings keep coming. In order to have
the installer quit I have to shut down iTunes.

What can I do to make Office or the Windows Installer leave me alone when I
am just tring to sync my iPod.

Well I finally gave-in to Office, and stuffed the Office 2000 CD into the
drive and that solved the problem (so far at least). I suppose Office got
the file it needed and is now fine.

Sound like you had the Office set up in order to install the missing
modules when you request to use this missing "module" the first time.
Once the missing module is first access, Office will "nag" until it
gets installed.
