OExpress attachment file limit??

S

scully

i am ending an email to a specific address and it cant be received
the file is 380kb so no biggie
sends fine and you can see the email and attachment from the
recipients webmail

outlook express cannot see this email or its attachment

i have deleted and and re setup the account but nothing changes
i have tested other [smaller attachments] and it works fine

i have looked through oexp settings and cannot find an attachment
limit anywhere - the service provider has no facility for attachment
limits to be set by users
thanks for any and all tips advice etc

OE does not limit the size of any message or attachment. If a copy of your
message is found in Sent Items folder (assuming you have this option
enabled), OE has nothing to do with the problem.

Can you send the same message & attachment to yourself successfully?

i sent a particular email and attachment [email and attachment X] to
several recipents
all recieved "email and attachment X" ok except "user A"
"user A" can receive emails from me
"user A" can receive attachments from me
"user A" cannot receive "email and attachment X" from me
"user A" can receive "email and attachment X" via webmail
"user A" is 79 years old and outlook express is a huge challenge
webmail is just not an option for "user A"

why cant "user A" recieve"email and attachment X" in outllook express?

the service provider is useless and i already have wasted considerable
time talking to support operatives

thanks for any further info on this issue

Try changing the "extention" on attachment "X". Otherwise pose your
question to one of the Outlook Express groups, as to setting/changing
the "Security features" of that software.

Again, the problem is not on your end.

Since the message is available in his webmail inbox and assuming the message
isn't found in OE's Deleted Items folder and barring any OE error messages,
I can only posit that his anti-virus and/or anti-spam application is causing
the problem. Ask him to disable email scanning by the anti-virus
application (Do not disable the AV app!) and disable/uninstall any anti-spam
applications.

Here's a tip: Ask in a group with OE in the title. Notice this group
lacks that.

Ask elsewhere.
