OE keeps stealing my attachments

Apologies for the lack of technicality to this question.
I've reviewed the newsgroup and there are obviously many
out there with much more sophisticated talent in terms of
Outlook Express than I.

OE keeps removing access to attachments that I am
expecting to receive, and need! It is even removing access
to attachments I have sent. How do I convince it that
these attachments are are necessary part of the message?

Any help gratefully received.

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, click to clear the "Do not allow
attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially
be a virus" check box under Virus Protection, and then click OK.
