I am using Access 2002 and trying to import dBase IV
files I get an error message that says "The search key
was not found in any record". Does anyone know what
causes this and how to work around it?

Don't know.
But is the file path and name in DOS 8.3 style?
It should be.

Also, all field names in the dBase file need to be 10 characters or less.
