OCX problem

I think I found the reason why MASW will not run a scan:
It appears I have an incorrect OCX. In the error log I get
the following message:

372::ln 30:Failed to load control 'RichTextBox' from
RICHTX32.OCX. Your version of RICHTX32.OCX may be
outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the
control that was provided with your
application.:AlertType=1::gcasServAlert:modMain:Main::1/11/
2005 11:21:18 AM:2000:1.0.501
438::ln 0:Object doesn't support this property or
method::gcasDtServ:modMain:ShutDown::1/11/2005 11:22:24
AM:1.0.501

I have checked the version of my OCX located in the
Winnt/system32 directory. It is version 6.1.97.82 with a
date of 2/23/04. Perhaps I have to new a version?

Good troubleshooting, but I don't think that's the answer yet--I have the
same OCX as you have, and I am not seeing these issues. Perhaps
re-registering the OCX might help:

regsvr32 \WINNT\system32\RICHTX32.OCX

Note that there is a SPACE after regsvr32 and before the backslash in the
above command.

You should see a message saying "DllRegisterServer ... succeeded"

re-registering the OCX solved my problem. Thanks!

Terrific!

One other user with a similar issue posted. in his case, the errors.log
referenced a different OCX, but the fix was similar. In his case, he found
that he needed to download a fresh copy of the OCX--it had become corrupted
in some way, he thought. But, downloading and re-registering took care of
the issue.

Thanks for confirming the fix--this will help others in a similar boat.
