occasional prob with Diablo 2: LOD has me stumped

I have a Dell Dimension 8100 running a 1.7 ghz P4 with 384 megs of RAM and
a 64 meg nVidia Geforce 2 mmx on windows xp home with a Samsung cd-rw/dvd-
rom combo drive. About once a week, I will try to start D2LOD, and it will
tell me to insert the game disc, even tho it is already in the drive and
the autorun has popped up. At this point, the only thing I can do is reboot
my computer. After that, the problem is fixed until next time. This is the
ONLY program that does this, and I run about 20 cd-dependant programs. Any
suggestions to kill this odd glitch would be appreciated.

Update to the latest patch.
Check to see of your firmware is up to date on your CD-r/w drive.
check to see if you have any CD playing software running when you
encounter the error.
Try running the game from the shortcut and not the auto run. (or vice
versa)
Close CD Burning programs like DIrect CD and alike.

since you own the game you can look in to a NO-CD crack if you
continue to have problems.
