NVIDIA Driver Updates

On 8/24 I downloaded and installed updates (Version 4403, dated 5/2/03) for
the GE Force video card. Soon I began having a series of stop errors, all
saying that "a device driver (unidentified)" caused the crash.
This downoad also installed a new application called nView. It is in
Add/Remove Programs.
Then on 10/29 I was notified (by Windows Update) that still another NVIDIA
update was available (Version 4523, dated 7/28/03). This was installed and I
haven't had a stop error crash since.
Of course, I'd like to be assured that it was a faulty NVIDIA driver that
was causing the crashes--and that the faulty driver has been replaced with a
good one.
I wonder if anyone else using an NVIDIA card has had the same or similar
experience?

I had the same prob, I have a gf 4 from msi to fix my prob I actually un
installed all of the NVIDIA stuff then went to msi and upgraded there then
got the newest from NVIDIA after that, until I did that I had errors and
crashes for awhile. I still have some NVIDIA upgrade available from windows
but have been too afraid to try it. Because that's how it all started.

I used to think you couldn't go wrong installing driver updates. Now I think
I'll remember the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
