I was working with an external keypad on my laptop. I am using VPN to access
my computer at work. My external keypad was working fine, but I was
depressing a key (i.e. CTRL, SHIFT) for too long and a message came up saying
something about holding the key too long will activate sounds when you press
certain numbers. I clicked one of the options at the bottom of the screen
and now my external keypad will not type numbers anymore. Please assist
because I cannot get to my office and access the keyboard directly.

In Windows, click on Start | Control Panel | Accessibility
Options | Keyboard tab | uncheck the "Use FilterKeys" and "Use
StickyKeys" boxes | OK.
