ntoskrnl.exe

I can't figure out why but I encountered a "Disk I/O status: ntoskrnl.exe
missing or damaged please reinstall a copy of this file" error. I triied to
fix it with windows console, can't achieve any success. Reinstalled windows
2000 to a different directory and have both installations on system. Triied
to copy ntoskrnl from new install to original install but still get the same
error. Is there anything I can do to recover my original install? Any help
or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Jared Simon

Try renaming "system" to "system.bad", and "system.alt" to "system".

You should also check the number for "partition(x)" in the hidden file
c:\boot.ini.
