I'm using Windows XP home edition and I received an error
message, NTLDR Missing. I have already gone to microsoft
support and followed the steps to try and correct the
problem (under the Windows 2000 NTLDR Error Message
support page). I tried copying the i386\ntldr C:\ and
\ntdetc.com files to the hard drive, but the computer
said "Access denied." Moreover, when I entered "type
C:\Bootn.ini", it said that it could not find the
specified file.
On another support page at the Microsoft site, it said
something about a Bcupdate2 utility that I need to fix
the problem. What do I do to obtain this utility, or
else is there anything else I can do to fix this problem?
(Keep in mind, I cannot start Windows. The computer
simply goes to a "NTLDR is Missing" screen, and then
prompts me to restart. All I can run is the Windows
recovery console and the BIOS.)
