ntldr missing - new HD and still missing?

I did a backupAcronis recovery of my HD from 4 different time periods
and I am still getting the "ntldr missing". How is that possible? Is
it a motherboard problem and not windows?
Now, my computer was fine up until 2 week prior to my last recovery
(and I do a once-a-month backup). So, instead of picking the last
time I backed up, I picked a time prior to that (when the computer was
working perfectly) and again I am getting the ntldr missing. So I
picked a time that was 3 months ago and so on, each time when I
reboot, I am getting the ntldr missing and I am not sure why. Could
it be a hardware issue? Thanks

Was the new hard drive ever seen by Windows before the recovery?

Did you disconnect the old drive?

Are you running Acronis from Windows or from its own boot media?

It doesn't sound like it.

Hi David,

I am also using Acronis. It is most definitely not a Hardware issue. It
is a Boot.ini issue, where it is pointing to the wrong partition. You need
to edit the Boot.ini file to point to the correct partition. If you can't
edit the file, because it does not exist on a FAT32 partition or you are not
dual-booting, then you will need to reinstall Windows, then restore the
latest Acronis Image file on that partition.
