Hello hopefully someone can help!!!! I recently defragmented my computer and
when I restarted the computer would not boot. All I get is a black screen
with the message "NTLDR is missing press ctrl-alt-del to restart" but this
will not restart the computer. I do not have a recovery cd so is there
anyway to get the computer to boot??

Here this article provides procedure to repair unlike other. This says Win 2k
but applies to Win XP, also.
You need boot.ini, ntdetect.com, and ntldr (no extension in filename)
You don't need ntbootdd.sys This is Win 2k file.

You may have to edit boot.ini file. Actually you could start w/o copying
boot.ini file. yours may still be okay. If not, then copy a new file.
