NT to 2000 upgrade

After the upgrade starts and 2000 reboots the server to
start the next phase of the installation, 2000 does not
see the CDROM anymore. The installation has to be
aborted, problem is you cannot get into NT anymore
because files have been delted. This is on a IBM 5500
server.

Sound like a driver needs to be installed during the first portion of setup.
check on IBM support site
