NSW 2006 shuts down my PC

I have a DELL 1150 notebook installed with Windows XP Home SP2 and
Norton System Works 2006. Each time I run the full anti virus system
scan my PC shuts down. What can I do to resolve this problem?

Can you clarify what you mean exactly by "shuts down"?

Well, while NSW is scanning through the c:\windows folder the PC shut
downs (turns off). That's it. There's no reason for this to happen.
I can't figure out whats happening and I've never seen or heard of a
problem like this with NSW.
