Notification Icons won't Stay Hidden

Hi,

I like to keep most of my notification icons in the taskbar "hidden".
Two won't stay hidden even though I select "Always Hide". They may stay
hidden for a couple of re-starts, but eventually pop back up. When I go
back into the "Customize Notifications" settings, they for some reason
have reverted to "Hide when Inactive".

For what it's worth, both are "network cable unplugged" notices (one on
the laptop and the other on the docking station). I use a WiFi
connection and so don't use these ports at home, although I do use a
wired connection sometimes when travelling.

Any ideas on how to keep theses icons hidden?

Thanks,

Mike

These icons re-appear because "something" has happened and they are no
longer inactive - i.e. whilst the network connection may be inactive,
Windows is actively trying to find the network connection. When it
doesn't, it activates the "Not Connected" icon, which causes it to
re-appear.

2 ways out

- Network Neighborhood -> right click on appropriate network
connection icon -> untick boxes for display icon notification

-- Network Neighborhood -> right click on appropriate network
connection icon -> select Disable

That makes sense if I had them set to "Hide when Inactive", however, I
set them to "Always Hide". Other active items seem to remain hidden.
Nonetheless, I'll try your suggestion of unticking the box for icon
notification.

Thanks,

Mike

I've got one that reappears every few boots too. Haven't been able to
figure out how to stop that. It's no big deal anyway.
