Not prompted to disconnect

XP Home + IE 6.0

Not prompted to "disconnect when disconnection may no longer be required"

although the option has been ticked in Internet connections-Advanced dial
up.

I have searched the knowledge base and found and acted on following:-

("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\"Connection
Name"\EnableExitDisconnect

The value should be 01 00 00 00.")

but still cannot get the prompt when disconnecting.

The registry does show several versions of my Freeserve/Wanadoo/Speedtouch
current and previous settings.
Some show above values with spaces e.g. 0x0000000 (0) etc.etc.
I can give fuller details if anyone is kind enough to try to help, this would
be appreciated.

Sods law ?
I disconnected immediately after writing this and you've guessed it!
the prompt appeared.
Very weird,as it has been missing for weeks.
I'll post again if the problem recurs .

My guess is that he was in safe mode or otherwise not running
a bunch of things he normally runs.

This was a problem for me in IE5 until I discovered that it was
caused by a third-party program (Alexa). By the time I figured it out
I was so used to using OE's Offline/hangup prompt that now I hardly
ever see that "Now that all Internet related programs are closed
would you like to hangup?" prompt. Fortunately, the more important
disconnect option (timed AutoDisconnect) has always worked for me.

If I ever decide to switch to broadband I figure it'll take
a while to get used to *not* getting a prompt when
I set Work Offline... ;o
