Not Enough Memory Message

Matt

I'm trying to run a Windows NT based program on Windows
XP and keep getting a "not enough memory" message when I
try to boot it up. I know this program can work with
Windows XP because I have a colleague that is using it on
his Windows XP computer.

I'm running Windows XP Professional SP1
I have a 80GB Hard Drive and 1GB of DDR RAM
and Intel Pentium 4 2.66GHz

The program specs require only 256MB of RAM. Does anyone
have any suggestions on how I can allocate memory to
specific programs?

Thanks

Take a look at your Page File. Rt click MyComputer>select
Properties>Advanced>Performance-Settings>Advanced>
Virtual Memory-Change.
Select Custom Size: Initial Size 800 Max Size 800
Set>Ok.

Thanks
That worked like a charm. Not intuitive though? Can you
explain why a smaller page file versus a larger page file
would help?

Cheers

That's not really small. 800MB. For instance I have 512MB Ram and my Actual
Page File Usage runs around 30MB.
I keep it on a separate 1G partition.
