Windows XP Professional
Dell Dimension 4600
1024 MB
Intel Pentium 4 2.66Ghz 533Mhz FSB
2-80Gb Western Digital Hard Drives for 160Gb total
My computer has been running cery slowly as of three days
ago. I installed 512MBs of DDR PC2700 about a month ago.
My virtual memory was set at 1024 minumum and 1024
maximum on the original Hard drive and 0 minimum and 0
maximum on the second hard drive per tech at Dell
support. When my system began to act up, I researched
Microsoft Troubleshooting and adjuxted my Virtual memory
to 1537MBs total minimum and 3072MB's total maximum. This
seems to have helped a little, but I am still
experiencing slow access and frezing during gaming.
Anyone have any other ideas? I have only had this system
for three months. In that three months I have added 512
MBs of RAM. Floppy drive, Creative Lab Sound Blaster
Audigy 2ZS Gamer, as info. It just seems that with 1Gig
of Ram and the XP Professional, along with my 2.66Ghz
processor, i shouldn't be having these kinds of problems.
please advise. Thank you.
