not all contacts appearing automatically in email to box.

When I start typing a name in the to box of a new email, not all of my
contacts are available. Some people who are in my contacts and address book
just do not appear as options, but other do. I have Suggest names while
typing and automatic name checking turned on.

Could you help me to get all names recognised.

Thanks

That's perfectly normal behaviour. The names that appear when you type are
NOT stored in your Contacts folder - all they are is a list of names that
you have used in the past. if you have used ALL the names in your contact
list, then they will ALL appear in the in the list. This list is stored in a
separate file....normally called Outlook.NK2 (AFAIK) and it is not stored in
the same place as your pst file....

Is there a way of getting all the names into the right file, without going
through each one.
I am used to outlook express where all my contacts are available without
having to type in the addresses.

Click the "to" button - an addressbook view of your contacts will appear,
rather like the OE one....

The Outlook way of doing things is to type a portion of the contact's name
and then press CTRL-K to cause a lookup. If there are more than one contact
matching what you types, you'll get to choose between them.
