Norton Smart Sweep Error

I get this error message when I start my computer.

"Smart Sweep/Internet Sweep is currently not able to run on a multiple
processor machine" in CleanSweep"
I do not have multiple processors or CPUs as far as I can tell. I am using
SystemWorks 2002 with
Win XP sp2

This was all I could find in Symantec. It only re-states the problem with no
solution-----

"NSW displays this message when you attempt to use certain CleanSweep
features on a computer that has multiple processors (CPUs) or a computer
that Windows interprets as having multiple processors.
Some CleanSweep features are not compatible with multiple processor
computers or with computers that Windows interprets as having multiple
processors. Windows, for instance, interprets CPUs that have support for
hyperthreading as multiple processors.
Symantec does not provide support for using CleanSweep features such as
SmartSweep and InternetSweep on a computer that uses multiple processors,
uses a CPU that supports hyperthreading, or displays this message. "

Does anyone know how to correct this or convince NSW I have only one
processor?

Thanks

If your motherboard has Hyper Threading technology and your process supports
this, then Windows thinks there is two processors. To confirm this, go to
your Task Manger (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and click on the "Performance Tab". In the
"CPU Usage History" area there may be 2 windows and this indicates your
motherboard has Hyper Threading technology.

If you are using a newer system, it's possible that you have a CPU with
Hyperthreading Technology. This allows the single CPU to act as 2 virtual
CPU's. Many applications are not compliant with thias technology.

You can check this by right clicking My Computer and selecting
Properties/Hardware Tab/Device Manager. Expand the Processors menu item. If
it lists 2 CPU's there, then you have a processor that supports HT.

It may be possible to disable HT in the systems BIOS, but I would not
recommend this step. Better to switch to a better software program that
supports HT.
