okay now having this problem. after reinstalling windows the first thing I
install is norton security and I just bought 2004. I got it installed and
everyhting and live update wont update big deal so I can just go to website.
well... I notice norton security in the system bar is disabled so enable it
and afew mintues later it and norton anti-virus clsoe themselves out for no
reason. Even if I dont enable them it does it after a few minutes WHAT IS
GOING ON? Ug I already tried clean reinstalls and everything. Norton systme
works 2004 is working fine though :( sigh

Hi,

i am relieved to hear that it's not just me. nav 2002 stopped working - caught sasser so bought 2004. managed to install but cannot switch auto protect on and cannto connect to live update - so far a waste of money and still no virus protection.

cannot connect to symantec for support - don't see why i should pay 29 euros for technical support which probably won't help

what can i do ?

Check this link to uninstall NAV and then install it:
How to uninstall Norton AntiVirus by using the Rnav2003.exe removal
utility
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2001092114452606

Consider using a free antivirus, like AVG at www.grisoft.com

Good luck
