non-shrinking PST files

I have a .pst local on my disk. I have several folders under the inbox that
I save messages in. My .pst file has grown to 80MB and I wanted to get some
space back. I found a folder that indicated it was using 7MB so I deleted
it, closed Outlook (to delete all the deleted items) and opened again and
compressed the .pst. But it didn't shrink at all. How do I reduce the size
the .pst file is using? Thanks!

You still need to compress the Personal Folder.
That's what I did when I compressed the .pst file from the
Properties/Advanced of the main folder. File didn't shrink.
