NOD32 ... a lot of updates?

I've noticed a lot of updates coming thru in respect of NOD32 this last
couple of days.

Whilst I know ESET do update very regularly, their seems to be an
increase of late.

Is there something on the 'horizon' that is heading our way?

This rend was set in motion a few months ago. They update many times
week now.

I too have had several updates PER DAY for the last two days.
Prior to that, for the previous few days, NOD logged many failed
attempts to reach the server.

I'm not sure what's going on but it is definitely more frequent
then their usual once/day on weekdays.

Yes, I know, i'm a long term user of NOD32. It's the /increased/
frequency of the updates that is both reassuring yet concerning.

I'm a reseller, so I think i'll get onto my 'man' at the UK Head Office,
he might know ....

watch this space.

FYI, Avast! has updated five times in the last 30 hours. One of them
was even 15 KB.

Someone mentioned a lot of new variants for .. something .. can't
remember exactly.

Yes, for example a lot of new Bagle variants and droppers. F-secure
has a story about them in their weblog where they also celebrate the
record of daily updates today, 12 separate updates in a day!
http://www.f-secure.com/weblog/

And a place where you can read what has been updated in various
Nod-updates can be found on

There has been 3 Nod updates today and 4 yesterday...

Sort of... There are several new Bag le variants being spammed around
at the moment. Nod32 and many other anti-virus software developers
have had to release several updates a day to deal all the new
variants.

Thanks for the link to the actual updates. It allowed me to sync
my logs with what they updated and to relax about the failed server
attempts as they do go through and I have received all the updates
I was supposed to have received.
