No Transitions

I'm a little rusty in PP right now. I received a presentation with music
that has slides that do not advance unless the icon in the lower left corner
of the slide is mouse clicked. I want the slides to advance automatically.

I pulled the file into my PowerPoint program and noticed that all slides are
checked off to advance slide "on mouse click." I unchecked those boxes and
set for advance slide "automatically after, oo.xx seconds."

In clicking "Slide Show", the first slide come up, the music begins to play
(loop), but the slides do not advance after the pre-set number of seconds.

I know this is a yawner for you MVP's, but I'm drawing a blank. Any ideas?

Thanks, Jim

Double-click the sound file in the custom animation task pane. Choose the
Effect tab and specify "stop playing after 999 slides." The slides should
advance then.

Thanks Echo: Did what you said with no positive result. Any additional
thoughts? I think If I had the sound file on my computer I could remove it
and re-insert it and that may clear it up, but the file is not resident on
my system and I can't see any way to save it to one of my directories. At
any rate, the settings are "start from beginning" and "stop after 999
slides."

Oh, they may have put the file into Kiosk mode. Check Slide Show | Set up
Show and change from "kiosk" to "presented by speaker."

Echo-That wasn't it, but you got me to where I needed to be. In the Set Up
Show drop down window, there's a small section titled "Advance Slides" with
two radio buttons. One is "Manually" and the other is "Use Timings, if
present". The Manually was clicked; I reversed the selection and that
solved the problem. Many thanks. You guys are tremendous.

Ahhh, that's great. Thanks for letting us know what worked! (I doubt I would
have thought of that one.)
