No Sound

I don't have any sound. I don't know what I could have done.
My son played one of his games on my computer, and I deleted it afterwards.
Maybe it went missing then?
No sound, no sound device, no volume control...

Can anyone help me, I don't know what to do.

Thanks

Hello,

1) Try reinstalling the audio drivers from the drivers disc that should have
come with your PC.
2) Try doing a restore to the point where the problem was not there:
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
3) Download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer's website.

I took a disc with audio driver on and re-installed.
That did not bring back sound.

I tried no 2 below, said computer had not changed.

I dont know who manufacturer is? Disc says Motherboard Utilities CD - TUCD
Ver 2.3 ?

Now my mouse won't work properly, the scroll down button in middle is not
working....

Can you help me further?

Thanks

Not even sure which is sound card. I have a list under Sound, video and game
controllers:
Audio codecs, C-Media AC97 Audio Device (which says "This device cannot
start - Code 10)
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
MPU-401 MIDI
Standard Game Port
Video Codecs

Please advise what to do next
Thanks

One more question: to download online, where do I begin to look. Do I do a
search with the name of audio device?
