No Sound

HELP, PLEASE
I upgraded from Win98 to Win2000 last weekend and just
noticed that I do not have sound, mouse scroll and a few
other apps. that were previously on Win98. I get alot
of 'can't find rundll.exe or one of its components or the
procedure entry point DadEntry18 could not be located in
the dll DDraw.dll'. Tried following the instructions in
Microsoft Articles 227494 and 227805 buttons(Advanced
under Sound Playback) is not active to get to speaker
setup and in Properties, Hardware the Wizard does not come
up. I even tried to restore Win98 and forget about
purposing the new printer that I want which is not
compatible with Win98, but the restore disk 1&2 are not
working. Any help, in any direction restoring or moving
forward will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
(I'm tired, going to bed, been at this all day on my day
off)

An upgrade of the o/s can be problomatical as you've found.
Have you ensured you have win2k drivers for yr hardware?
From the hardware manu.sites, not winupdate.

just wondering if you rec'd any responses. I have the
same problem with no sound from the upgrade to
Win2000.....it's very frustrating.......thanks
