Could you be more specific? Let's see:

1) While in IE6, you type or paste in the address bar the URL of the search
machine, let's say

http://www.yahoo.com/

and press Enter or click the green IE button Go.

2) At the top of the page that appears, there is the search window where you
write your search criteria, let's say:

"America's Cup". Then you press either Enter or mouse click Yahoo! Search.

If you have done all the above, and got no results, it is very weird. Y just
wanted to make sure at what stage you say "no search engines work". If you
can connect to the Internet, call the search engine, and write your search
criteria, I don't understand.

hope this helps,
haim

"Don't work" doesn't tell us diddly. Saying the same thing when you bring
your car into the shop will result in them standing there waiting for you to
get more specific or them spending weeks microscopically inspecting your
vehicle and costing you lots as they fix anything less than 100% spec
perfect.

Have you tried running anti-spyware, like Ad-Aware and Spybot, to see if
you've been hijacked which interferes with accessing or using the common
search sites?

Have you ran a full virus scan using a recently updated anti-virus program?

James,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
