Hello,
When I right click a program on the taskbar, there is no menu. Then I have
to maximize it and close it there. How to I re-enable that? I am using XP...
Thanks

What program would that be?

Has it ever worked properly?

Are there some programs that work the way you want and some not the
way you want, and can you give an example of each?

You can enable/disable the display of Context Menus (the right click
options) in the Taskbar by manipulating a registry entry by hand or
with the XP Group Policy Editor. This is even for the Start button.

One way to get to the Group Policy Editor is to click Start, Run and
type: gpedit,msc <enter>

Navigate to: User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Start Menu &
Taskbar highlight the option:

Remove access to the context menus for the taskbar

Double click it. The default is Not Configured. What does yours
say? Click OK if you change it.

Using the Group Policy Editor in this method will create/modify/delete
a registry value that you could also change through regedit.

Now, if this is your problem and you fix it, how did it get that
way? Perhaps some malicious software did it for you, so you should
check your system for that. I suggest the following methods:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these three free
malware detection programs:

Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
AVG (AVG): http://free.avg.com/
