Thank you for taking the time out to read my problem. Anyway, like in
the subject no programs can connect to the internet except I.E. When I
try to play somthing from the internet on Windows Media Player, it
gives me a message saying "No internet session has been established." I
have been continually staying up late and trying to fix this problem
but nothing works! An error message pops up when I click on any feature
that you must be connected to the internet to use. The error message
says "You must be connected to the internet to use this." Aim explorer
will not work either, the about blank page comes up and nothing else. I
have tried shuting of Windows Firewall but it wont turn off. PLEASE
HELP ME!!!!!

Here's a couple of things I found with a Google Groups search:

Google Groups search
http://groups.google.com/groups/search?q="You+must+be+connected+to+the+internet"+xp&qt_s=Search

"Turn off Nortons Internet Security."

"Set your proxy server as your default gateway."

"It sounds like a setting in Media Player needs to be set to your type
of connection. Re-check all connection settings within Media Player and
try again."

"One suggested going to Internet options, Connections tab, Lan Settings
button, and remove the check for Automatically detect setting. However,
when I went there, the box was already unchecked, so I decided to try
checking it and WMP now works correctly."
