{no Pconfig}

i get an icon in tray saying - would you like to use {no
Pconfig} rather than the disc recording software provided
with windows xp.

i dont know what this is and how i can stop it occuring
each time i start the computer up. the icon is a folder
with an arrow going to a cd. please help as i have tried
everything

Interesting. Googling around finally gets me to that this question is
coming from DLA in the Record Now cd burning program. So probably what
is happening is that you have DLA set to start with Windows and you
still have Windows burning enabled. Open My Computer and right-click on
the icon for your cd-rw drive. Choose the tab for cd burning and
uncheck "enable recording on this drive", Apply and OK out. Now you
will use Record Now (third-party burning software) to burn cd's. I
think using DLA (packet burning) is questionable, but you should read
the help file that comes with your burning software and make your
decision.
