No menu bar, right clicking not working, etc

Totally random problems here, but I'll see if anyone can fix it. I'm running
Windows XP SP 2, plenty of RAM and hard drive space, processor speed, etc.

Recently when browsing the internet with IE 7, I'll notice that if I'm doing
a lot of things at once (Browsing multiple tabs, etc) the MENU bar on one of
my tabs will disappear. Just completely gone. I've noticed it comes back by
pressing the "alt" key for some reason...?

But the problem is once THIS has happened, I can't right click anything.
Simply nothing happens when I right-click. I can highlight something, and
then when I right click to copy or something, nothing happens. Can't right
click ANYWHERE.

Then when I try to go into my windows explorer (say, my pictures or
something) the right click doesn't work THERE either. PLUS you can't copy or
paste anything at all, even if the menu bar IS there and you select COPY. It
just doesn't do anything.

A simple restart of the computer fixes this, but for some reason when I load
multiple tabs with IE 7 it seems to cause all of this. Is my diagnosis
somewhat correct? Is this what causes it? Or has my recent install of Skype
caused it, even though it's not open when this happens, and doesn't even load
in the system tray?

If you can help at ALL please let me know. (e-mail address removed)

Thanks! Kevin :)

One suggestion - uninstall Skype and see what happens .

Yeah I understand the logic behind that, but I USE Skype and I don't want to
have to uninstall it. Do you think it was a bad version or something?
Because I WOULD end up reinstalling Skype anyway...

Try re-registering these DLL's which in theory should recreate your windows
desktop shell functionality (right-click etc)

click start, run and type following command, press return once completed.

REGSVR32 /i SHELL32.DLL

REGSVR32 /i BROWSEUI.DLL
