No Login Screen

Hello,
I just upgraded my Windows NT 4.0 SP5 Workstation (laptop) to Windows 2000
Professional SP3.
The NT Workstation had 2 partitions, C:\ & E:\.
After the upgrade, the Workstation bypasses the login screen & the E:\ is
now the default drive.
Can/will someone tell me what has happened & is this an issue I need to
correct. If this is an issue I need to correct, how...

Thank you,

Charles L. Phillips

You must change the system drive back to C:. Run regedit.exe
and navigate to HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices. Now
rename \DosDevices\E: to DosDevices\C:. If DosDevices\C: is
already taken, rename it to an unused drive letter. After
rebooting the machine, your drive letters should be back to
normal.
