OK, all the services are running, on both computers. So we're left with my
personal favourite (NOT) - LSP / Winsock corruption. Run all tools, at least
once:

The bad new is that I downloaded the programmes and ran them on both
computers. The kids computer could still not get internet access.

However, I decided to try uninstalling VPN Client and without it both
computyers can get access to the internet. Is there no way I can use VPN
Client this with a home network?

Thanks for your assistance.

VPNs, by nature, tunnel traffic. Some restrict traffic, by policy.

If your problem is caused by the presence of a VPN, you have to figure out how
to configure the VPN so you don't have problems. Or you figure out specifically
what the VPN is doing to cause the problem, then work around the problem.

OTOH, if you are running a VPN between your home computer and a work computer,
the folks at work might NOT want you connecting to the Internet at the same
time. This behaviour might be by design. VPNs have a purpose, and you might
want to ask yourself if you're trying to defeat that purpose.
