No ICONs appear after logon

When I log into my 2000 server I get no desktop Icons or
start bar. When I go to task manager and try to run a new
task it closes quickly. Any Ideas?

Are you running up-to-date anti-virus software? Your first issue doesn't
necessarily sound virus related, but your task manager issue is a common
symptom of some viruses out there.
