Hello

recently had a few problems with the pc

home page selecting to search-town.net and keeps coming back when logging on.

I had a trojan.adclicker virus which is now deleted.

I have managed to sort a few problems out but need some advice.

I went to device manager and on my system devices I am getting

no drivers are installed for this device

they are

direct memory access controller
intel(r)82801ba/bamsmbus contoller-2443
intel(r)82801baca pc1 bridge-244e
motherboard recourses

What chipset does your motherboard use? If VIA, SIS, or some other
non-Intel chipset then you will need to download and install the
platform chipset driver package for that motherboard. You don't mention
what motherboard you have, but then you can visit their web page rather
than me doing that and simply providing a link to there.

Never heard of "Medion". Do a Google search on AIDA32. The author
stopped development very recently but it is still a very good tool to
interrogate your system so there are probably other web sites still
offering it for download. BelArc Advisor is another good tool. I have
both. Of course, you could just pop the cover off the case and look.
Or you could call whomever sold you the computer and ask for specifics.

Go to Device Manager / System Devices. Is there a yellow question mark in
any of the items under this category ? If yes , scroll this category and
right click on cpu to agp controller , under driver tab select install /
update driver. Do the same for any other that remain after this procedure.

Just like to add, for the generic host process for win32 services. The message appears everytime I log in

encountered problem and needs to close
error signature szappname szappver : 0.0.0.0 szmodname : unknown szmodver 0.0.0.0 offset 0000000

techdata error report content

C:\docume~1\local~1\temp\wer2.tmp.dir00\svchost.exe.mdm
C:\docume~1\local~1\temp\wer2.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt

I deleted this a week back and checked it today and its reappeared. I have deleted these items and a few more and will be keeping an eye

does anyone know what these items are.

If your system is bootable go to run and type sfc /scannow ( note space
between c and / ) , insert XP cd when prompted. This utility will replace or
repair system files. Good Luck , Jym

J

Jym

The sfc scan should of lasted about 10 minutes and would of required the XP
cd whether it found missing files or not. Did the board driver that you
installed solve some of the problems ? If the remaining problems are only
related to the sound system , reload or update the sound drivers. These
drivers can be found at the MSI site , if you use a integrated sound chip or
at the manufactures website if you have a psi add-on card. Jym

It did last around 10 minutes. I have done it without cd and with cd. It has not requested for the cd. It also has come with no messages.
