"No Device Found' when attempting to burn a CD

(Windows XP Home SP2, LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1673S)
When attempting to burn a CD, I am receiveing the error "No Device Found".
I have tried several software programs (Adobe Audition, Cakewalk Pyro, Roxio
Easy CD & DVD Creator) and keep getting the same result. The Device Manager
says that "the device is working properly", however none of my CD/DVD burning
programs are recognizing the drive. I am able to read, play and rip from the
drive... but, I cannot record (burn). I tried uninstalling/re-installing
software. I also uninstalled/re-installed the drivers for the CD/DVD device.
No recent changes had previously been made to the system. Please advise.
Thanks.

It appears that nobody responds to these posts... bummer. I thought that I
might actually receive some "Help & Support" here, as the name implies.
Nevertheless I will add to my previous posts in the hopes that it might help
someone else.

In researching various newsgroups & users forums I have discovered that some
people have had success with "ForceASPI" (Google it for more info), however
it did not work for me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... my search for a solution
continues.

Hi Shenan, Thanks for your input. I followed your recommendations, however
it did not provide a solution.

FYI, I completely removed the "Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator" software, then
un/re-installed everything else... and now, "Cakewalk Pyro" recognizes the
burning devices. Hey at least, I can burn CD's again! DVD burning is
another issue though. Let me know if you have any other recommendations.
And thank you again for your suggestion.
