Hi Tim,
Defragmenter is installed by default. You may need to change an entry in
registry so it points to a valid file:
Click Start | Run | Regedit.exe
Goto this location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComp
uter\DefragPath
In the right-pane, double-click the value "default" and type the following
entry for it's data:
%systemroot%\system32\dfrg.msc %c:
More Information:
To see if defragmenter file is available in the hard disk, click start | run
| type "dfrg.msc"

I am using Xp Home. I am trying to defrag my C drive.
Under "properties/tools" of the C drive it says that "no
defragment tool is currently installed" thus I cannot run
XP's defragmenter. How can I get this reinstalled? Any
help would be appreciated.
