No Bass & Treb on sound card

Hi we do a lot of recording from a 4 track
recoder to pc I use a mp3 maker gold to
do the music all of a sudden when we record
the mic picks up and it never did before.
When I go to the sound board to turn off
mic it want turn it off so I click on the
advance and the window opens up and it has
bass and treble but the borad is dead I can
not move nothing. And when I record on the
mp3 and play back the music plays with no
bass and treble. my sound card is vinyl
ac'97 codec combo drive (wdm) when I go to
device manger it shows nothing wrong. I have
wxp all updates and sp1.
can anybody give some info on this.

Base and treble is not a option for the ac97. Dub click on the little
speaker at bottom right and mute your mic for record and mute mic for
playback.

.It don't let me mute it it never did this before

it only comes on when we record it has just started
doing this. and when we play back the music it
has no bass and it records very low.
