Ntbackup is not installed by default in XP Home. If you have an XP
installation CD, it's on there. Look in in the \MSFT\ValueADD\Ntbackup
folder as ntbackup.msi or download it from here:

Ntbackup is an old program, brought over from Windows NT. It does not
compress the backup files, and cannot backup directly to DVD. It can backup
to a single CD-RW if 3rd party packet writing software is installed but it
cannot span CDs. There are newer and better backup programs available.
I recommend using a drive imaging program, Acronis True Image (ATI) Home,
version 10, backing up to an external hard drive connected to the computer
through USB, Firewire or eSata. ATI can create a compressed image of the
drive. Images can be done on a partition or drive basis, and restores can
be done on a file, partition or drive basis. Images can be full,
incremental and differential, saving time and space on subsequent images.
It also does file backup, and drive cloning.
You can put together a 320GB external hard drive from a bare drive and an
external drive enclosure for under $100. This is a low cost but very
valuable backup solution.
