no audio

Hi all..I tried unchecking Qos packet rescheduler and my
friend can hear me now. I can't hear him so we are
working things out on his end.

Love msn messenger but this audio mess is frustrating.
video is fine.

Will unchecking Qos affect my net connection in any
negative way outside of the msn program?

TIA as always..

Noticed some threads back Jonathan posted some reg fixes
for sound using xp. Would these work in msn messenger.
did any try these fixes?

We would love our audio back..

I have the same issue here with both windows or msn messenger. Audio sends but is not heard. I have a data meter which shows me the received audio does in fact reach my LAN card however messenger does not play the received audio

I have uninstalled messenger, and sound card drivers, reinstalled and still no sound. This is still an un fixed issue. If anyone has more findings, please advise

Hello again Jonathan...just sent in a post regarding the
reg fixes you had posted back a few threads ago. My
friend and I are having the darndest time getting our
audio to work.

Curious if these fixes will help us. Both using xp and
msn messenger.

Jonathan.,.this thread from page 4 (on my board)

Greetings Chris,

Try this-- download and run these .reg files (just
download and choose Run)
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/dingfix.reg
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/wm_soundfix.reg

Note: in the last .reg file, if your Messenger
installation isn't in C:\, you'll need to open
it in Notepad and change the drive letter.

After these are imported, reboot, then log back in and
see if the sounds now work.
