No access to printer functions

I have windows XP SP2. I have suddenly not been able to print from any
software. When clicking the print button in the software, the print dialogue
box does not appear and the software freezes. Also when I click on printers
and faxes in the windows control panel it does not bring up the next screen
and again freezes. It is like windows print function has disappeared ? When
the error message comes up it is 'Spooler Subsystem App error, spoolsv.exe,
Oxoof1454d and Ox03a01000'.
Should I remove windows and reinstall from recovery disk? Hope someone can
help.

Do NOT "remove windows and reinstall from recovery disk."

Try this:

1. Start > Run, "cmd" (without quotes) and click OK
2. In the Command window that opens, type "net stop spooler" (without
quotes) and press Enter
3. In Windows Explorer go to %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\ and
delete any files that are there
4. Back in the Command window, type "net start spooler" (without quotes)
and press Enter.
5. Close the Command prompt window.

This should get rid of any corrupt print jobs that may be causing your
problem

Thanks for tyour help Cari but my problem was that there were corrupt files
in the spooler folder once I had removed them that freed everything else up.

Keep up the good work and thanks
