Why so many stars for so few four-leaf clovers?

I'have a Koppix bootable CD I would like to use in case of emergency and to
avoid to connect a Windoze computer vulnerable to a http attack.

How ever I would like to find a scanner on line (as Symantec and Trend-Micro
have) but running on Linux.

Do you have some pointer to share ?

Why so many...,

The best advice I have is to post your question on a Linux newsgroup.

Maybe F-Prot: http://www.f-prot.com/products/corporate_users/unix/

Or Kaspersky: They took over the Romanian Unix programmer team who was
left without a job when Microsoft bought GeCAD/RAV. See

Thanks Gabriela,

Unfortunately I already visited all of them and no one provide a on line AV
scanner.

Why so many...

I didn't say this newsgroup was limited to anything, I merely suggested
trying a Linux group as possibly being a better source.

It seems like I didn't get the term "online scanner" right, when I
first read and replied to your question.

Trend Micro's Housecall, Panda's ActiveScan and all of these
Web-Virus-Scanners AFAIK need an MS Internet Explorer and ActiveX
controls.

But why don't you add a script to your Knoppix CD, which downloads the
latest F-Prot for Linux program and virus defs to some virtual or USB
drive? I didn't try to do this yet, but I'm quite sure this shouldn't
be a very difficult task.

HTH
Gabriela, hoping that some Linux crack will jump in to confirm what I
said <g>

Thanks Georges

However I'm not familiar with *nix nor *nix NG while I am present on this
one since half a dozen of years (not with this nick I must say)...

;:)

Thanks for the help anyway.

Thanks you Gabriela : this is a workaround I have already tested a few weeks
ago but which does not meet my objectives.
