Newsgroups notification

As there doesen't seem to be a group regarding Windows Newsgroups itself, I'm
posting this here.

According to the Newsgroups HELP:
When you first sign up for notifications, either while posting or browsing
threads, you are asked to verify your e-mail address.

When I check the notification box I DO NOT get get any verification window
or popup, and I receive NO notifications. I DO have my (Google) popup blocker
disabled for this site.

Any suggestions?

If your using a browser to read these Newsgoups you are not notified by a
pop up window of any replies. An E-mail is sent to the address you supplied
containing a link that will take you direct to the thread.

Hope this Helps,

Simon.

THAT's my real problem - I'm NOT receiving any such emails, even though I
check the "notify me" box.

Then don't use the awful web interface. Use a real newsreader instead,
which is very easy to set up. Here's information about that:

Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you
learn to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows,
but you can use Outlook Express since you already have it. Here are
some links to information about newsgroups:

I agree with Malke, I use Outlook and it is a lot easier to use (and read)
than the web-based interface.

If you still want to use the web, make sure your E-mail address is typed
correctly and also check your spam/bulk folder to see if the messages have
been put in there.

Hope this Helps,

Simon.

Just one teensy correction to the above - Outlook does not do
newsgroups. Instead, it calls Outlook Express.
