NEW xp Installation ?? icons ??

dear all

I have just installed a NEW XP from scratch on my hard disk drive.. I used a
bootable xp CD room from which I formated the local drive and installed the
windows by the instructions of the CD..

all completed but ICONS are not there in the desktop except the RECYCLE BIN
!!!!

the copy is working just fine.. but where r the My Computer and IE ... etc
!!

it is a FUJITSU Siemens computer

right click on the desktop, go to "Properties", click on the "Desktop"
tab, and then click on "Customize Desktop". You should be able to
configure the icons from there.

For some reason, every time Bill Gates releases a new
version of Windows, he tweaks it a bit different from the
last one.

In the case of XP, you boot initially to a blank desktop,
save the trash can in the lower right corner.

Simply right click on the desktop, click the desktop tab at
the top, click Customize Desktop under the window that lists
the available wallpapers, Go to the top to the General tab,
and in the window, tick each of the listed icons.

Then click OK, Apply, whatever to close the properties
window.

All you need to do now is to organize your icons how you
want them.

That's perfectly normal. That's the default desktop.

the copy is working just fine.. but where r the My Computer and IE ... etc
!!


If you want to alter the default settings, right-click the desktop,
select Properties, and go from there.
