Anyone else showing this update is available from WU ? According to my WU
history this (KB892130) was installed on June 13th, 2007. Is this a new
update
to the WGA Validation Tool ? Ron

Hi Engel, i just received this today - after installing yesterdays updates :

Hi Engel, Robin, Dave M, and who ever downloaded PC Tools - Threat Fire.
After removing Threat Fire from Add/Remove everything was fine untill
i discovered three files in Windows/System32 named : Ttfsmon, Ttfsysmon
and Ttfnetmon. When you ran your curser over these files it said
Threat Fire and when you right clicked these files and went to properties
you
were also told these were files for TF, so i deleted them. Removing these
files
wiped out the use of my keyboard (these were my keyboard drivers).
Now i could only use my computer with the mouse, if i touched any key
on the keyboard it completely froze the computer and i had to shut down.
Also if you needed to use the boxes like: run, google, a password, sign-in
this NG you couldn't so i was dead in the water.

How i fixed this problem was i downloaded new keyboard drivers from Dell
on another computer and burned them to disc and then was able to install
them on my computer only needing my mouse to install them.

Robin, i know you deleted TF could you check to see if you have those files
in system32 because i'm wondering if threat fire re-named these files.
Thanks Ron

Ron I installed this nasty program on my test computer only and that one is
an HP Desktop (it is the only HP I have- it belonged to a client of mine who
bought a new one from me (a dell) and he gave me his old one because the hd
failed. Since I have about 10 hds with 20gigs on them I took out the dead
one and put in one of mine and i use that machine only for testing programs.

I checked all 3 fines using the search command and none of them come up
anywhere.
I will tell you that i used CCcleaner after I uninstalled the program to
remove any traces of it

Ron H,

ThreatFire is still running here, with 34 million events analyzed, 10
suspicious activities detected and , zippo Malware blocked. None of those
files show up here, at least with the product installed. I didn't find any
google hits on any of them either... so I'm clueless, sorry.

Glad I scooted over here today, I just got it as well, and I run IE6.

Robin, I answered your post below as well. Sorry I have been late getting
back to you, seems I have too many projects going as well. Hopefully they
will be done by the holidays. Good luck with your's as well.

If I can't get back here soon, EVERYONE have a great Turkey day. JJ :)
