'New Programmes Installed'

Insatlled XP Pro a few weeks ago, following PC Upgrade.

All well loading drivers, applications etc, but after a
period of little change to installed programmes, the
Start menue has started indicating 'New Programmes
Installed' every time the mouse is hoverred into start
menue !.

Last programme installed was 'Incredimail', but how can I
confirm what is triggering the 'New Programmes'
indication, and how to stop it ??

Hi,

If each has been activated from the Start menu, then you may have to disable
the option. To do so: Right click the Start button/Properties/Customize/
Advanced and uncheck Highlight newly installed programs.

Thanks Kelly,

Didnt even know that activation from Start menu was
critical (some were being started from short cuts on
Office bar !

However 'Incredimail' stayed highlighted even after use
from Start menu - this may have been because I had
deleted the 'IncrediDATE' component as not approved for
desktop !

Incredimail programme removed, spurious 'new programme'
warnings no longer apparent !
