New Logo?

I've had a few people think that the current logo looks a bit boring and bland, so I thought I'd put it to the vote

I'm not much of an artist, so it does look a bit generic - so I thought I might put a design competition over at sitepointforums to get a nice new logo designed. I've seen a few really good designs come from these, so I'm not worried about that

I am new to the site, so have only seen the current logo for a few days.

Whilst it does look great as it is it would be interesting to see some other ideas.

yes i agree prehaps it it time for a new logo design
u have made all this effort to change the entire interface of this website
so why stop there?

Its open to anyone, but the entries have to be posted on the sitepoint website (its their rules). Would be very nice if someone here won

I checked the link again and thought the following was very good looking (one on the bottom)

I quite like Artistsneverdie designs it's clean finish and colour is pleasing to the eye...

But i still don't think that anyone has done a graphic that beats the current silver pc one on style and looks and sharpness, i know you said it doesn't have to be a pc graphic Ian, but i think the current one is already hard to beat, perhaps just an update to the text would give more Impact....just a thought...
