New Defs update but it says it hasn't

I just installed defender and the start page says.....my def's haven't been
updated for 90 days. yadda yadda..it updates fine..I see the pop up saying
updaing..then it says...no new def's..but it won't clear that check for new
def's message. Plus the icon in my sys tray has an orange exlamation point
saying i need new defs. What gives?

Hello Andy,

try this:
Go to Start/run.
Copy and paste this whole line: ( with ")
"C:\Program_Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -RemoveDefinitions -All
then:
"C:\Program_Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -SignatureUpdate
