I get the message Windows defender definitions haven't been updated in 26
days. When I run the check for updates it says " Windows defender has found
no new definitons or engine updates available" The tray icon stays there with
an (!) in it. Is there a problem. Also when I Installed this software on my
home computer and laptop there is no indication in the task bar that the
software is running. Windows ani spyware used to show a small red target

Hello Ken,

The system tray icon for Windows Defender (Beta 2) will not be visible if no
action is needed. This is expected behavior.

I hope this post is helpful, let us know how it works ºut.

I have the identical problem. I loaded it at home and the update took but no
icon in the tray indicates it is running. (maybe that's normal?) Then at
work, I am also continually prompted with the message to update, but clicking
the update button brings a message that no new updates are available.

Thanks,
dg
