New Computer Installation

My daughter has broken the mother board while installing additional Ram and I have to get her a new computer. She has Win XP Home. Will I be able to get the activation done on the Iternet or Phone or will I be required to buy another lisense ?
This computer was made and sent from Pakistan and the new one will also be taken by me from Pakistan to London.
If a new OS is necessary I would like to buy it from Microsoft in Pakistan because of price difference.
The old computer was a P III and the new one ordered is a P IV.
Any advise or assistance given will be highly appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,

If it's a retail version or if it's been over 120 days since the last
activation with a generic OEM version, you will have no problems.

It depends on whether it's a retail version or an OEM one. For a retail
version, there should be no problem. But if it's an OEM veresion, its
license permanently ties it to the first computer it's installed on. Moving
it to another computer would be a violation of that license.

Why not simply replace the motherboard? However, it's your choice.

Unknown, based on the information you've provided. If the OS license
is an OEM license, then it lives and dies with the computer, and you'll
need to purchase a new license with the new computer. If it's a retail
license, you can transfer it from the old computer to the new one.
